US Labour Market Sheds Jobs in July as Labour Force Participation Slumps The latest jobs report from the Bureau of Labor Statistics has cast a shadow over the US economy.

In July, the labour market shed 23,000 jobs, and labour force participation declined to its lowest level in five years.

Labour force participation – the percentage of working age Americans with a job or actively seeking one – dropped to 61. 4% in July.
