Singer songwriter Raye Zaragoza is on board to bring the powerful story to the stage. The Miss Navajo pageant defies traditional notions of beauty by celebrating womanhood through the lens of Navajo culture.

Contestants are expected to demonstrate their knowledge of traditional skills such as frybread making, rug weaving, and sheep butchering while showcasing their understanding of Navajo legends and language.
