They’re a duo of Israelis who met while competing in hacking competitions as teenagers and later worked together in Israel’s elite Unit 8200. Their team includes “smartest friends” from the Israeli tech ecosystem, including alumni from top AI labs and math Olympiad winners.

Enigma’s willingness to challenge conventional wisdom sets it apart from other robotics companies. By starting from scratch and asking “what’s the ultimate experience?” they’re not beholden to established protocols or methods. This fresh perspective could be exactly what the robotics industry needs.

The online experiment is an open-ended test of human-robot interaction, with participants able to communicate with the robots in different ways – text, audio, video, or even tapping and dragging. The data gathered will reveal an interface that becomes the robotics equivalent of the car volume knob: effortless, intuitive, and accessible to anyone.

Enigma’s business use case remains shrouded in mystery for now. Jacobi declined to share specific use cases, but hinted at partnerships with companies in healthcare, logistics, and entertainment. While this is intriguing, it also raises questions about the long-term implications of creating robots that can interact with humans effortlessly.
